MAHAD FLOOD RELIEF DRIVE
The fury of Mother Nature, during the week of July 25th, brought unimaginable calamities, destruction and loss of hundreds of human and animal lives in and around Mahad, India. Virtually each and every family has sustained much hardship and pain in the wake of the ensuing floods. Those living in single story homes have been completely wiped out of their entire belongings. Over ten feet of monsoon floods have left thousands paralyzed and stripped of basic necessities such as food, electricity, clothes and medicine.
Personal telephone conversations, newspapers and internet sites are explicit testimonies which recount the harrowing loss of life and devastation in Mahad and the surrounding region. From the comfort of our homes, we have the moral obligation to reach out and do our very best to assist these families in reestablishing themselves. Even a small donation will help many rewrite a lease on their lives and alleviate the present misery.
We have established reliable channels to ensure that the proceeds of this drive will be delivered to the needy families, primarily in the form of food, clothes, medicine, fuel and basic shelter. Full accountability for the funds has been established and detailed reports of proper disbursement will be received and shared by all of us on an on-going basis.
