Hello, my name is Nikhil Basargekar.
I am suffering from cancer and am currently undergoing treatment. I've been informed that a bone marrow transplant may greatly increase the likelihood of my being permanently cured of my leukemia. Of course, doing so would require a matching bone marrow donor. and bone marrow matches tend to be highly genetic. I am of Indian descent; both my parents are from Maharashtra.
If there is some kind of bone marrow drive event, please le me know. It's very important to note that such an event would not be just for me. Even if a drive doesn't result in a match for me specifically, it may result in a match for someone else who will need a bone marrow transplant. Leukemia and diseases like it are life-threatening. Hosting such an event would be of great benefit to those afflicted in the entire South Asian community, not just in SoCal, but nationwide.
