Hindu Mandir Executive Conference
There are more than 700 Hindu temples in North America , bringing in quarter of a million people together every week, for spiritual gatherings. The future and existence of these temples would be determined by their willingness to play the interactive role in the lives of our second generation and their success in attracting them into their fold. For this purpose, our places of worships would have to address the needs of our youths by having youth oriented agenda, now. Otherwise, slowly they will perish. On rare occasions, we have seen that our temples are made the victims of bias-inflictions and they have no one to turn to, in absence support-group 'platform'.
With these objectives in mind, "Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America" (VHPA) whose mission is to unify Hindu diaspora, is planning to bring together representatives of various temples and
spiritual organizations, once again, in a "Hindu Mandir Executive Conference" (HMEC). First HMEC was convened last year in Atlanta where 55 temples and spiritual organizations came together for the first time for collective brain storming sessions to find solutions to their own problems. As this movement is gaining momentum, this year's HMEC is going to be held in Edison, NJ on Aug. 10-12 at Holiday Inn and lot more devotional institutions are expected to participate. The role of VHPA in this whole affair is going to be that of a facilitator (catalyst), the way it had been from the beginning. Only the temples and spiritual organizations will be the participant of this landmark conference. Everything from 'agenda' to concluding action-items will all be materialized by the participants, drawing upon each others strength and expertise.
As you can understand, in spite of contributions from the participating delegates, the conference of this magnitude cannot be fully realized without the financial support of our community. VHPA, therefore, humbly request your generous "yogdan" for the future of our cultural legacy in this continent. Please mail your tax exempt donations in favor of "VHPA" (mention HMEC in memo) to the address below, as soon as possible. As a non-participating supporter of this event, your $50-plus donation will get you one invitation for Saturday, August 11 Musical night/dinner. The artists of the musical programme will be Dr. Manoj Govindraj, Smt. Uma Narsimhan and Ravi Narayan of "The Academy of Indian Music".
You may also consider putting an advertisement in the commemorative souvenir which will ultimately reach to all the temples across North America. The rates for souvenir-advertisements are: $1000 for Full Page, $ 500 for half page, $250 for quarter page and $ 125 for Business Card. Please make sure that your print-ready advertisement reaches us by July 10th.
We need your help and support. Please donate generously. Thanking you in anticipation……..
